Kendrew, Sir John Cowdery

Kendrew, Sir John Cowdery (1917-1997), British biochemist who determined the structure of the globular protein myoglobin. He was born in Oxford and educated at Clifton College, a public school in Bristol, and Trinity College, at the University of Cambridge.Perutz's determination of the fine structure of haemoglobin soon followed, and the two men shared the 1962 Nobel Prize for Chemistry.
