Bosch studied chemistry at Leipzig University.Bosch developed other chemical high-pressure methods, such as the Bosch process, in which hydrogen is produced commercially by passing steam and water gas (a mixture consisting predominantly of hydrogen and carbon monoxide) over a catalyst at high temperatures. In 1931 he shared with Friedrich Bergius the Nobel Prize for Chemistry for his research on high-pressure reactions.
